This year, the UGA and AEG (Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists) are teaming up to provide quality field trips to be held in mid-September. The field trips cover various aspects of engineering geologic topics, including Geologic Hazards along the Wasatch Front (9-22-12), Hydrogeology of Park City (9/18/12), Environmental Geology of the Kennecott Utah Copper Mine (9/22/12), and Antelope Island/Lake Bonneville Highstand Geology (9/18/12). UGA members may sign up for the field trips without also registering for the meeting. To register for one or more field trips, please do so before August (registration page). This page contains both the registration form and a link that better describes each of the one-day trips. Please identify yourself as a UGA member when you fill out the registration form.
A copy of this year’s UGA Guidebook (CD), Selected Topics in Engineering and Environmental Geology of Utah will be included with the field trip for UGA members. (Please note: The multi-day trip to southern Utah National Parks has a priority sign-up for AEG members; UGA members are encouraged to sign up for the four other trips noted above).
Important Information –
Please read this before registering: Some of the information presented on the AEG Website regarding the field trips is confusing and some is out of date. If you fill out the downloaded registration form and you are a UGA member and attending a field trip(s) only without intent on registering for the conference, you must fill in two boxes on the form: you must fill in the cost for the field trip(s) you wish to attend, and must also fill in the box several lines above the field trips that says, “Field Trip ONLY Limited Registration.” This line assesses a $25.00 charge that covers the cost of the UGA Guidebook. If you choose to fill in the online registration form, you will also need to fill out the same two boxes. Also, if you read the AEG web page that describes the field trips in detail, please disregard the information appearing in a box on the bottom right of the second page (Box title is, UGA Field Trip CD). This information is incorrect.
